DID YOU KNOW...

1. Approximately 2 million children in Uganda have been orphaned by civil war and the AIDS epidemic.
2. Half of the population of Uganda is under the age of 15.
3. 8,000 people die everyday because of AIDS-related illnesses - more than 6,000 of those live in Africa.
4. AIDS is now the biggest single cause of death among children under the age of five.

Our church, Oasis Christian Center, has partnered with the Watoto ministries to fight the devasting impact of AIDS and poverty on the people of Uganda. Watoto is an organization that provides holistic, residential care for orphaned and vulnerable children with the core vision to rescue a Child, raise a Leader and rebuild a Nation. This December, Oasis will send a team of volunteers to bring Christmas, and basic necessities, to over 2,000 orphans and widows.

We have decided to join Oasis' team of volunteers, but need to raise at least $7,000 by September 25, 2008 in order to participate. We cannot do this without your help...
